Construction of an overpass (traffic interchange) over the T-18-01 Rivne – Zdolbuniv – Mizoch – Dubno highway at km 49+590, Rivne region

The construction of a bypass around the city of Dubno was planned back in the 1990s. Design documentation was developed, land plots were reserved for the construction of the highway, and construction has partially begun. The designed traffic interchange at different levels consists of 4 exits, a roundabout, and access roads to the roundabout along the T-18-01 highway to ensure traffic in different directions. The class of the traffic interchange is I (I – II), K.

The designed structure will have the following characteristics:

–        the length of the overpass is 91.36 m;

–         overpass scheme – 21.0+2х24.00+21.0 m;

–         roadway width G- 2х12.25 m, with service passages 2х0.75 m;

–         calculated temporary load – A15, NK-100.

The design solution adopted an overpass with a continuous monolithic prestressed span structure and supports with foundations on a natural base. The design service life is 100 years. When choosing the structure, the option using prefabricated reinforced concrete beams was also considered, while the design service life of the prefabricated-monolithic structure is 80 years. Despite the fact that the cost of a monolithic span structure is higher than that of a prefabricated-monolithic one, the monolithic span structure option was adopted for development as one that will provide savings of financial resources in the long term, and also corresponds to modern trends in the construction of artificial structures.
